Best known as the creator and executive producer of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Lauren Faust is an award-winning artist, writer, and director from the United States. Over the last 30 years, she has worked on multiple animated series and movies, and it’s likely you’ve seen at least one show she was involved with!
In her years of experience, Faust had animated for The Iron Giant, the Powerpuff Girls, and Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends. For the latter of these, she received a Primetime Emmy Award, which she shared with her husband, Craig McCracken, who created the series.
Faust was also involved with the 2013 documentary “Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony”, as well as the fan game “Them’s Fightin’ Herds”.
After she stepped away from My Little Pony, Faust continued to work on new animated media like Wander Over Yonder and Kid Cosmic. She also created & directed DC Super Hero Girls, which focused on the female heroes of the DC Universe as modern-day teenagers.
Beyond her impressive repertoire of animating and directing, Faust also teaches at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University in California, to teach aspiring artists and animators to this day.
